YMC Basics: new pieces

The name is in the title, YMC Basics. The range focuses on bringing you those every day pieces - t-shits, polo necks and sweats - without compromising the premium quality inherent in the brands ethos. If you were thinking white tees and cheap denim you were wrong, the founders of YMC, Fraser Moss and Jimmy Colins bring the same quality and decidedly light design touch to a full line of Spring pieces that won't break the budget. The release sees a line which is modest and understated however, its anything but basic.

The range still sees a great attention to detail with these basic YMC Cotton Jerseys (made from 100% cotton), have a nice marl effect running throughout them with a ribbed collar which made them perfect for the summer.

Royal Blue £25

White £25

Pink £25

Mustard £25

Whoever it is, most Spring Summer collections for the past few years have had nautical inspiration and the YMC Basics range is no exception. This knitted cotton cardigan with instantly noticeable Bretagne navy on off white stripes, two front pockets and anchor detailed buttons show YMC's dedication to producing classic garments with a contemporary edge through the understanding of delicate detailing.

Acne Jeans

Acne Jeans is an iota of a much wider brand of advertisers, product designers, publishers and multimedia artists working under the brand title 'Ambition to Creation of Novel Expression'. The denim offshoot began in 1997 when 100 pairs of raw denim with red stitching were produced for friends, family and clients, but it wasn't until 1998 after a campaign of public request, that Acne jeans started to become commericially available, and have since released two collections a year consisting of both raw and pre-washed denim. The thing that Acne can really be highly commended for is their understanding of washing, producing some of the most diverse and beautiful fades in their denim.

The Max range by Acne sit just below the waist with a medium rise then cute slim through the hip and thigh with a tapered leg. The flat rivets characterize them.

Acne Max le Blue - 3/1 left hand twill, medium weight Japanese denim

Acne Max Cash - 98% cotton, 2% elastane, medium weight denim.

Acne Max Grey Stone - 3/1 left hand twill, 100% cotton Japanese denim

The Mic range, once characterised by its noticable red stitching, has become a classic with zip fly, low waist and straight leg.

Acne Mic Black rigid - 3/1 right hand twill, medium weight raw overtinted denim

Acne Mic Blue Stone - Japanese medium weight denim, 3/1 left hand twill

Acne Mic Raven, Ace Max Raw and Acne Max Thunder (below in order) will be restocked for AW this year, so keep your eyes peeled.

We looked at how ACNE have utilised film to enhance their recognition in the world of fashion, but something that earns them respect and identifies them outside of the world of fashion is their in house print, the ACNE Paper. They focus on a key theme, topic or idea and push people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds to produce work of all artistic direction, whether is be photography, painting or writing as a way of bringing together artistic minds of all generations. It is published twice a year and the transparency of the brand continues as they offer a look at the printing process that produces this revered magazine.
